This product set includes both the “AZ-17 Ultra Saurus” and the “AZ-17EX Ultra Saurus Gravity Cannon.
The “AZ-17 Ultra Saurus” performs powerful dinosaur-like walking through its electric unit when the switch is turned on. With its long neck swinging forward and backward, and its tail swaying widely side to side, it walks dynamically under motorized control. The Zoid Core built into the eyes and chest lights up with LEDs. Six unpainted general soldier figures (attached on runners) are included, which can be seated in the cockpit.
During walking, the 360mm Linear Cannon and AZ 90mm Triple Pulse Laser Gun move up and down in sync, while the side propellers on the abdomen rotate. When the communication antenna on the catapult deck is folded down and the switch is turned ON, the walking gimmick stops, and the transformation gimmick activates, shifting into underwater submerging mode with the neck lowered. In addition to ON and OFF, the switch also features a display mode that lights up the LEDs only.
The “AZ-17 Ultra Saurus Gravity Cannon” marks the first three-dimensional productization of the Gravity Cannon.
When attached to the “AZ-17 Ultra Saurus” main body, it can not only walk but also reproduce the firing motion (Planetary Shell projectiles are not actually launched). By switching ON while the communication antenna on the deck is folded down, the walking gimmick stops, and the entire sequence of actions—loading, shifting into firing stance, aiming, and firing—is automatically performed. By attaching the included effect parts, it is possible to recreate the moment of firing.
