Description
Based on research conducted at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Weapons School, this 1/12-scale model captures the PTRS 1941's elongated form. Its distinctive structural features, including selectable fixed magazine positions and a movable bolt, are also faithfully reproduced. The model is molded in two colors: brown and black.
About the Simonov PTRS 1941 Type
In 1941, the German-Soviet War broke out. Recognizing the importance of anti-tank rifles, Soviet military leaders ordered the design of the semi-automatic anti-tank rifle "PTRS 1941" by engineer Simonov. Over two meters long and weighing over 20 kg, this exceptional rifle was capable of firing five newly designed 14.5mm rounds in succession. These rounds proved devastating, capable of penetrating German tanks in the early stages of the war. While advances in armor soon obliterated its tank-killing capabilities, its long-range, powerful firepower remained a hallmark, paving the way for later anti-material rifles. The SKS Carbine, a smaller version of the PTRS 1941, was highly acclaimed and had a major influence on postwar Soviet automatic weapon design.
