Description
The Howa 5.56 automatic rifle, manufactured by Howa Industries, was adopted by the Japan Self-Defense Forces in 2020. Its official name is the Type 20 5.56mm rifle. Its greatest features are its excellent drainage and environmental resistance, designed for remote island defense. The body is made of a combination of aluminum alloy and reinforced resin for strength and lightness, and it is equipped with a lightweight handguard and a stock that can be adjusted to suit the user's physique and equipment. It features ambidextrous design for ambidextrous operation, providing a high level of functionality required for modern firearms. Its barrel is shorter than the Type 89, yet maintains the same or better accuracy.
With permission from Howa Kogyo Co., Ltd., we conducted research at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Weapons School. This 1/12 scale model of this firearm has been meticulously modeled. Furthermore, for the first time in the series, it has been produced domestically in Japan, ensuring the highest quality possible.
